Nestled in idyllic Myrtle Creek, Oregon, Dawn Wind Morgan Ranch encompasses 50 acres of upland and bottomland pastures, and irrigated fields. The McDermott Family’s Morgan horses live as naturally as possible, with year-round pastures and are always barefoot. We believe in whole-horse health; physically, emotionally, and mentally.
We stand two foundation Morgan stallions, Blackhat’s Royal Prince, and Triple S Trigger. In 2012 we can ship semen for Royal Prince at a nominal fee. Trigger, our young palomino stallion, is in saddletraining so we will not accept outside mares this year.
As devoted as we are to helping the Morgan breed regain its genetic base, we breed carefully and with great intention. Our goal is to only produce typey, well-conformed, good-tempered individuals. We are not a show stable. We are grass farmers who also produce grass-fed beef, free-range eggs, and a large community garden. Our Morgans are our passion.
